One of Robin's lines was 'and this is why we have protocols'. She was spirited, adventurous, funny even - the line about her pet 'Ketchup' just isn't amusing anymore, because it is delivered flatly by a character with the same boring, do-what-you're-told traits as her sister. I felt attached to the old Robin, I agreed with her opinions on Alterra, she really made me - and all the other players, too! - feel as if we were stranded with her on a dangerous planet, doing everything under the stern eye of a corrupt, greedy megacorporation.
Why? The old voice actress, playing the role of a vaguely rebellious character who is thrown into a bad situation and manages to make light of it, was absolutely perfect. She now is much more serious, straightforward, and has absolutely no unique qualities worth discussing. Not only that, but as I explored the game, I discovered that her personality and lines had been changed significantly as well. I fired up Below Zero today and found out, much to my dismay, that the voice actor for Robin has been changed. As a heads-up, I play in Experimental Mode, so I've not a clue if this is in the standard early access or not yet.
